Dr. S. Peter Chung, GMMA President/China ministry/Cardiac Surgery
Dr. S. Peter Chung is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Ocala, Florida. He obtained his medical degree at Yonsei University in Korea and completed surgical residency in New York and Cardiothoracic training at Texas Heart Institute. Dr. Chung received a calling early in his career to utilize his clinical skills to carry forth God's vision of healing and ministry throughout the world; and, he has established Cardiothoracic surgery programs in Nanjing, China; Baotou, Inner Mongolia; Fuzhou, China, and Pyongyang, North Korea. He is the current president of Korean American Missions Health Council and started the associated organization of Global Medical Missions Alliance. |

Dr. David Roh, NK Ministry/Nephrology
Dr. David Roh is an Internist/Nephrologist/Hospitalist. Dr. David Roh met his wife in medical school at ORU Medical School in Tulsa, OK and received his medical training in Southern California. After training at UCLA, Dr. David Roh joined the teaching staff at UCI Medical School for 10 years, and then joined a nephrology practice for 5 years. In 2005, he sold his practice to devote his life to medical missions, namely North Korea missions. He lived in Texas for 9 years before moving to Colorado 2 years ago. Dr. David Roh is currently the Founding Dean of the PUST DMS School of Medicine scheduled to open in 2016 in Pyongyang, DPRK. |
Dr. Michael Soderling, Director of Center for Health in Mission/OBGYN
Christian Journal for Global Health, Associate Editor for Health Missions. Dr. Soderling received his BA at Wartburg College after which he attended medical school at Medical College of Wisconsin with completion of OB/GYN residency at Union Memorial Hospital. He then went on to complete an MBA in International Development at Hope International University. He serves as the Director of the Center for Health In Mission and has extensive academic and field experience in medical missions, particularly in Guatemala. |
Dr. John Joo, Podiatry
Dr. John Joo is the Medical Director of a Multi-Specialty Medical & Surgical Practice in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A. He specializes in Podiatric Orthopedic Medicine and Surgery as a full time profession but his ultimate Passion is with the Next Generation Youth Ministry as he has served as a Youth Pastor of the Community Church of Seattle. Dr. Joo currently serves as a board of director and the vice president of the Korean Medical Missions Heath Council of U.S.A. He has lead many medical and evangelical missions to the third worlds such as Africa, Jungles of South America, Central America, Southeast Asia and Haiti. He speaks at many different national and international conferences including JAMA, GKYM, Vision School, Father’s School, Youth Retreats and Medical Conferences. He is married to a lovely wife of 20 years, Jacey and blessed with three sons; Ryan, T.J. and Wesley. Together, they enjoy sailing, scuba diving, and camping. |
Dr. Scott Lee, Ophthalmology (afternoon only)
Dr. Scott Lee MD MPH FACS is an orbit, ophthalmic, and oculoplastic surgeon. He received his undergraduate degree from Brown University, MD-MPH from UCLA/Harvard as a joint degree program, residency in ophthalmology at UCSF, and fellowship at the renowned Sydney Eye Hospital. Dr. Lee is adjunct assistant professor at the Stanford School of Medicine, and holds a faculty appointment at the School of Public Health, UC Berkeley, where he teaches 2 courses: global public health and the epidemiology of eye disease. He is the founder and CEO of the non-profit iCare which is active in international medical missions work. iCare has taught surgeons and helped to develop sustainable surgical interventions in Haiti, Macedonia, China, Myanmar, Bolivia, Morocco, Cambodia, Swaziland, Kenya, and many other countries. Dr. Lee is active in research and development of new technology in medicine, as partner and chief medical officer of 2 start-ups, and sits on 5 boards in Venture capital, non-profit, and other sectors. |
Dr. Raymond Choi, Dentistry (afternoon only)
Dr. Raymond Choi is currently a board member of Global Dental Alliance (GDA) formerly known as Korean American Christian Dental Mission (KACDM). As part of GDA ministry, Dr. Choi has been actively supporting dentist missionaries in Central Asia. He has made numerous trips to Central Asia to train Central Asian dentists associated with residency programs operated by dentist missionaries. |

Dr. Mary Roh is a Pediatrician. She met her husband in medical school at ORU Medical School in Tulsa, OK and received her medical training in Southern California. Dr. Mary Roh trained at LA County-USC and joined a pediatric group practice for 10 years followed by private practice for 5 years. She lived in Texas for 9 years before moving to Colorado 2 years ago. Dr. Mary Roh currently works at Guardian Angels Health Center in Aurora, Colorado. She and her husband have 3 grown children: Jennifer who is a 2nd year resident in Emergency Medicine at Yale in Connecticut, Jeremy who is a youth pastor in Dallas, Texas, and Jamie who is working at Goldman Sachs in Manhattan, New York. |
Dr. Susanna Choi, OB-GYN
Growing up, Dr. Choi said she’ll never become a doctor or go into OBGYN. Well-she has been in private practice in OBGYN for 30 years and has done mission work in Pakistan, Cambodia, North Korea and China. She didn’t think she could do much of “field medicine”, but now realizes that half the world is her patients-females. She has performed surgeries in all of those countries. Her current wellness practice incorporates physical, emotional and spiritual components of one’s health and her passion is to get people healthy and help them maintain wellness. She has lived in Colorado for 50 years. She is married to Jay and has 3 sons and one grandson named Titus. |
Rev Dr Daniel Chae (최종상), Executive Director of Amnos Ministries
Daniel is Executive Director of Amnos Ministries and Principal of Amnos Church Planting School in England. He is also a Council member of the UK Evangelical Alliance, and a Research Associate of London School of Theology. He has a combination of theological, pastoral and missionary experience. He was involved with the ministry of OM ships over a period of over 30 years, and was Managing Director of MV Doulos (2004-2009). He was the Founding Pastor of Eastbury Church in northwest London (1997-2004). After obtaining a BA in Business Management in Korea, he received a BA(Hon.) and a PhD from the London School of Theology. He was Tutor, Visiting Lecturer at London School of Theology. His PhD thesis on Romans was published by Paternoster in 1997. He has also written a few books in Korean, and a number of academic and devotional articles. He has lectured at universities around the world, and has spoken at international Christian conferences. |
